What Is a Premium Portrait?
A Premium Portrait is where I dedicate extra time to refining, polishing, and perfecting the details—bringing out your pet’s unique charm with a higher level of finish.
If you're looking for something extra special and highly detailed, this is the option for you.
Help Me See Them
What you share matters.
The photos you send—and the words you include—help me understand who I’m drawing. Not just what they look like, but who they are.
Please choose clear, expressive photos. If you send more than one, make sure they feel like the same pet or person—it’s amazing how much lighting or angle can shift their look.
Tell me what makes them special. A personality quirk. A role they played in your life. Something you hope I notice.
You don’t need to overexplain—I don’t follow strict instructions well—but a little insight goes a long way.
"What you share helps me draw not just what they look like—but who they are."
Each portrait is drawn one at a time, with care and focus. I usually work through orders in the order they come in, though I occasionally mix in portraits from collaborative projects (like Instagram pets for the book).
There’s no guaranteed turnaround time. I’ll reach out if I need clarification or run into questions—otherwise, just know I’m working through them thoughtfully, one by one.
Every portrait is interpreted with artistic discretion.
I do my absolute best to capture the essence of your pet or person—but these are hand-drawn illustrations, not photo replicas. What you get will reflect my style, my eye, and the sense I get from what you’ve shared.
If you’re looking for something highly specific or exact, this may not be the right fit—and that’s okay.
That said, if something comes through in the artwork that feels off—especially if I’ve missed something clearly communicated—I’ll make it right.
This is a personal process, and I want you to feel cared for in it.
One more thing: I retain use of the art to share, if I choose, in books, on my website, or as part of marketing materials and social media. - If I ever thought about using your portrait in something beyond the original commission—like prints or products—I’d check in and see if you’d be interested. If so, we’d figure it out together
Volume Two - or BOOK 2
There is no guarantee of a Volume Two, but it is the intention of the artist to use these toward that end. As well, there is no guarantee that your commission will be in said volume if creatively it does not work for some reason.

Cover of the book, 'Pets and Their People'. A collection of over 400 portraits, quotes, musings and humor. Sure to be enjoyed by all.
