An ice breaker for talking with children

In addition to its artistic genius and amazing detail, the book delivers a wonderful message(s). Which message/messages depends upon the child you “read” it with. Their feelings, fears, concerns, hopes and dreams can be explored as they tell you what each page shows them. For children going through difficult times in their lives be it divorce, deaths, separations, failures, or disappointments this enables them to relate, in someway, what they might be feeling. That interaction allows us to better understand what they're going through, how they're handling it and what we can do to best help them. It is truly a great book and I have recommended it to so many of my patients and school educators.

The Flower Man: Delightful in so many ways

As a teacher, I used this book often to build oral language and storytelling skills, for there are a million stories to be told on each page of this delightful book. Themes don't always reveal themselves in words, and the theme of this precious story warms the heart. Now that I'm retired, I'm giving it to my grand nieces and nephews, and you can bet I'll sit them down for some fun story telling.
